A Successful Launch

The Museum of Land Speed hosted an enjoyable series of workshops during the Easter holidays.

Led by Wonderstruck, the workshops explored the science of rockets, with children and families encouraged to build their own ones powered by compressed air.

After their rockets had been assembled, everyone lined up outside ready to launch their designs out over Pendine's glistening sands! Despite strong winds, plenty of rockets zoomed for some distance, with the ones that travelled furthest being awarded a special prize.

Much of the workshop took place inside the brand new function room of the Museum. The room overlooks the 7-mile sands out towards the Gower in one direction and Tenby and Caldey Island in the other. The room can be booked and used by anyone - just follow this link for details.

Future science workshops are planned for the Museum of Land Speed and other CofGâr museums too.

For now, enjoy some of the lovely photos from the day below.
