CofGâr Celebrates Major Win for the Museum of Land Speed at Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards

CofGâr is delighted to announce that the Museum of Land Speed in Pendine has been honoured with the prestigious Best Attraction Award at the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards, held on 7th November at The Plough Hotel in Rhosmaen.

This incredible achievement follows an outstanding first full year of welcoming visitors, during which the Museum attracted over 15,000 guests. Its engaging, family-friendly atmosphere and interactive exhibits showcase more than a century of land speed record attempts on Pendine’s iconic sands, making it a must-visit destination.

In addition to its exhibitions, the Museum has hosted events ranging from classic and contemporary car club gatherings to Carmarthenshire’s first-ever museum wedding, held in its stunning function room in May. This milestone was achieved through a successful partnership with the Carmarthenshire Registrars Service, offering couples a seamless, all-inclusive wedding experience.

The Museum’s success doesn’t stop there. Visitors consistently praise its exceptional programme of activities and events, including a celebrated exhibition on aviatrix Amy Johnson, family-friendly workshops such as rocket making and crafts using recycled materials, and corporate and community events.

Looking ahead, the Museum plans to expand its offerings in 2025, including hosting more corporate events and continuing its appeal as a sought-after filming location for TV productions.

CofGâr extends heartfelt thanks to all its staff, particularly the dedicated Museum of Land Speed visitor services team, whose commitment and enthusiasm have made this success possible. Together, they ensure every visitor enjoys an unforgettable experience at this award-winning attraction.
