Families at Dylan Thomas Boathouse
The Boathouse was once a happy, playful home to Dylan Thomas and his family. These days, the Boathouse maintains its warm welcome for all families, hosting activities and events all year round.

Plan your family visit
We host regular events especially for families. Find out What's On when you visit.
Facilities
Cloakroom
The Boathouse is very small and has only limited space for bags and coats. Please be prepared to carry these with you for the duration of your visit.
Buggies and Pushchairs
The Boathouse is accessible only via steps and has staircases inside to different floors. We therefore recommend leaving buggies and pushchairs in your car or at home.
Toilets
We have two Changing Places toilets to the rear of the Boathouse next to the terrace. Space is limited, so neither toilet includes accessible features.
Baby changing facilities
One of the Changing Places toilets includes baby changing facilities.

Food and Drink
The Boathouse has become well-known not just for its connection to Dylan Thomas, but also for the quality of its scones and Welsh cakes!
Y Gegin Gartref ('The Boathouse Kitchen') serves light lunches, drinks, and snacks - including our home-baked treats!

Much of our food is made in the original kitchen used by Dylan Thomas and his family. We do our best to use locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible and we even offer dog-friendly ice cream as a special treat!
Please ask us at the tearoom for allergen information and we'll be very happy to help.
