Family Engagement Volunteers

Purpose

To provide families with an exceptional visit that bring our collections to life for children and young people.

Volunteer Tasks

Support family activities and events

 

Engage children and young people in fun and interactive ways using handling objects, trails and dressing up, encouraging participation and conversation

 

Contribute creative ideas for family friendly activities throughout the museum

 

Deliver craft sessions and seasonal activities

 

Ensure visitor areas are clean and presentable

We are looking for people who...

 

enjoy engaging with people of all ages, including families and children;

 

are flexible and enjoy learning new things and;

 

have a friendly and collaborative approach.

Commitment

Flexible – No minimum commitment.

 

Weekends and during school holidays, 11am-3pm preferred.

Training and Support

A comprehensive induction and ongoing support from staff and other volunteers will be available.
