Work Experience
Our work experience placements give secondary school students the opportunity to try a wide range of roles across the museums service. You'll get to learn new skills and find out what we do on a daily basis to make sure our visitor experience is excellent across any of our four museums that are open to the public. You'll also get the chance to go behind-the-scenes to help us care for the collections or prepare our events programme.
Some of the activities you can try include:
- Welcoming visitors and telling them about the museum
- Helping to prepare family activities
- Caring for the collections using conservation skills
- Writing social media posts or website content
- Researching objects or entering data

Apply for work experience
Most secondary school work experience will be organised through the schools themselves. However, we recognise that not all children are educated through the school system, while others may wish to find out more about the CofGâr experience before applying. So we welcome all enquiries for work experience on behalf of 14-18 year olds and will do our best to accommodate your needs.
To get in touch, please email us at info@cofgar.wales or call 01267 228696.
