I’m Ffion and I’ve been doing work experience at Carmarthenshire Museum. I was naturally driven to spend the week at a museum because of my interest in history, particularly art history, which this museum has plenty to offer.

Throughout the week, I’ve been taking part in several different jobs, such as going to the restoration lab, handling collections, doing research on different artefacts, and visitor services.

In my opinion, my favourite was going through the restoration lab, since I’m interested in the subject and would like to pursue a career in restoring artefacts and different collections.

I would highly recommend doing work experience here to anyone who has an interest in history or curating as it shows people what goes on behind the scenes and all the work that goes into displaying collections, holding events and more.
