Celebrate VJ Day at Parc Howard Museum
Join us at Parc Howard Museum this August as we commemorate Victory in Japan (VJ) Day with a free, family-friendly celebration marking the end of the Second World War. Taking place on Saturday 16 August, from 11am to 3pm, the event offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience the sights, sounds and stories of the 1940s.
Enjoy a vibrant performance from Tumble Lindy Hop and Jive, who will bring the spirit of wartime dance to life with lively jive routines. Admire authentic WWII jeeps on display and explore fascinating objects in the WWII Mobile Museum, which will be open from 14 to 17 August.
We’ll be creating a warm, street party-style atmosphere with cakes, refreshments, and a chance to reflect and celebrate with the community. Feel free to dress up for the occasion too!
Whether you have a personal connection to the history or simply want to enjoy a day of live music, vintage vehicles and shared remembrance, all are welcome.
Free entry – no booking required.
