Enter the imaginative world of one of Wales’ most beloved writers at the Dylan Thomas Boathouse this August.

 

Families are invited to enjoy a special reading and draw-along session of Dylan’s Park with award-winning author Helen Docherty and acclaimed illustrator Thomas Docherty, whose charming new picture book brings Dylan Thomas’s childhood adventures in Swansea’s Cwmdonkin Park to life.

 

Inspired by Dylan Thomas’s own memories and writings, Dylan’s Park celebrates the magic of childhood imagination, friendship and outdoor exploration. Through carefully selected extracts from Thomas’s work, edited by Helen Docherty and beautifully illustrated by Thomas Docherty, the book recreates a park filled with “terrors and treasures” where every corner holds the promise of adventure.

 

Taking place at 12pm on Monday 17 August at the Dylan Thomas Boathouse, this fun and interactive event is suitable for all ages. Children and adults alike will have the opportunity to hear the story read by its creators, join in a live draw-along, and discover how words and illustrations come together to tell a story inspired by Wales’ literary heritage.

 

Signed copies of Dylan’s Park will be available to purchase on the day.
