Family Fortnights at the Museum: Archaeology
Dig into the Past: Family Archaeology Fortnight
21 July – 3 August | Carmarthenshire Museum
This summer, we’re bringing the past to life at Carmarthenshire Museum with a new family activity every fortnight of the holidays—and we’re kicking things off with a celebration of all things archaeology!
To tie in with the national Festival of Archaeology, our first themed fortnight (21 July – 3 August) is all about exploring the people, objects, and mysteries of the past. Whether your little ones are budding archaeologists or just love a good adventure, there’ll be plenty to keep curious minds busy.
Drop in any time during the two weeks to take part in:
- An archaeology-themed activity sheet and quiz to guide you around the museum
- Self-guided craft activities inspired by ancient finds
- Dressing up and hands-on archaeology fun, continuing throughout the galleries
It’s the perfect chance for families to explore Carmarthenshire’s fascinating history together in a relaxed, engaging way. There's no charge for the activities - so just turn up and get stuck in!
There’s even more to come in our themed summer programme, so stay tuned for the next adventure!
