Hieroglyphics Trail
Hieroglyphics Trail
The Ancient Egyptians have taken over Carmarthenshire Museum this half-term – and they’ve left behind a secret message! From Saturday 24 May to Sunday 1 June, join us for a family-friendly trail that brings Ancient Egypt to life through mysterious hieroglyphics hidden throughout the museum.
Pick up your trail sheet at the front desk and set off on a quest to uncover the symbols dotted around the galleries. Piece together the clues to reveal the hidden message – and when you’ve cracked the code, there’s a prize waiting for you at the end!
Trail sheets are £2.50 each – suitable for families and budding Egyptologists of all ages.
While you're here, don’t miss our brand-new Ancient Egypt exhibition, where you can explore the life and work of local archaeologist Harold Jones. There are hands-on games to play, a quiz to test your knowledge, and even a mummy to meet! (Not a real one – we promise.)
Want to get fully into character? Dress up like an Egyptian in the Main Hall and strike a pose. Then, try your hand at archaeology with a treasure dig in the Old Kitchen – with trowels and metal detectors ready to use.
The exhibition and activities continue until the end of September – perfect for a return visit!
