Make a Self-Moving Car

Join us this Easter at the Museum of Land Speed for a hands-on activity that’s all about creativity, construction, and motion. On Wednesday 16 and 23 April, between 11am and 1pm, families can drop in to take part in our Make a Self-Moving Car activity.

Using simple materials, you’ll design and build your very own working vehicle—one that moves under its own power. Whether it’s powered by rubber bands, air, or gravity, you’ll learn about basic engineering and the forces that set things in motion. Best of all, once you’ve built your vehicle and tested it, you can take it home.

This activity is perfect for children aged 7 and up, though younger children may enjoy taking part with a bit of grown-up help. It’s a great way to get creative, think like an inventor, and have fun while learning a little science and engineering along the way.

Included with museum admission and no booking is required—just drop in and get building. A perfect Easter holiday activity for families looking to combine fun and learning at one of Carmarthenshire’s most exciting museums.
