Make Driftwood Memory Sticks

On 9 March, in commemoration of the COVID-19 National Day of Reflection, the Museum of Land Speed invites visitors to take part in a quiet, creative act of remembrance.

Throughout the day, you are welcome to join our Driftwood Memory Sticks activity – a simple yet meaningful way to reflect, honour, and remember. Select a piece of driftwood, decorate it with your own thoughts, messages, or designs, and choose to either take it home as a keepsake or return it to the sea as a gesture of remembrance and renewal.

Driftwood, shaped and carried by the tides, serves as a powerful symbol of time, memory, and resilience. Whether you are remembering a loved one, honouring the kindness shown during difficult times, or simply taking a moment for quiet reflection, this activity offers a personal and meditative space for remembrance.

This self-guided activity is included with museum admission and is open to visitors of all ages. No booking required – just take a moment, create, and reflect in your own time.
