Plant Fair and Flower Fun Day
Plant Fair and Flower Fun Day
Join us for a full day of flower-themed fun at Carmarthenshire Museum and The Bishop’s Park on Saturday 26 April, as part of a celebration of spring, storytelling, and Welsh mythology.
While the Tywi Gateway Trust hosts a vibrant plant fair in the park, the museum will come alive with creative activities inspired by the enchanting tale of Blodeuwedd, one of the most intriguing figures from the Mabinogion. Crafted by two wizards from the flowers of the oak, the broom, and the meadowsweet, Blodeuwedd’s name means “flower face” – and her story will be at the heart of the day.
Inside the Museum, children can have their own “flower face” transformation with beautiful face painting by The White Rabbit Face Painting (suggested donation of £3 per person). Families can also enjoy a free craft activity, creating their very own flower face masks to take home.
At intervals throughout the day, settle in to hear the myth of Blodeuwedd brought to life by one of our volunteer storytellers, sharing this ancient Welsh tale in a warm and engaging way.
